I've wanted a horse since I was a little girl. My dream horse Daenerys found her way into my heart in 2012 but sadly left in 2025. This adventure still continues with Chance my grumpy old Arabian gelding who came into my life when we first moved to NC in 2015 and now my Kentucky Mountain horse Seamus who entered my life in 2023.
This is the story of my continuing adventure in the world of horses in my backyard.
hi, i'm looking forward to hearing about your new barn.
my man and i both have a question for you, about your comment: you said "did you desensitize the area first" about the towel thing. what do you mean by this? what area do you mean? i'm doing spraybottle training now, and that uses a distinct area where spraying is safe, and where it is too much for the horse, and you cross this barrier repeatedly until you can come closer. i wonder if that is what you mean.
